THE STORY

What is "TRAP"? When we talk about trap something, sometimes we refer to "holding something tight and never let go of it". Think about when we were kids, when we were catching insects. We trapped the little creatures in our hand, watched them carefully. They were so beautiful, it was like we want to hold them forever.

Now I am a grown-up, and now the beautiful things that I want to hold forever, is my memory.

Haha, maybe it sounds so tricky to say this because the memory truly is something we couldn't touch or feel, then how to achieve this? Well next step I started to think about this question. 

Our head generates memories all the time, and memories are everywhere around us. So I started to observe normal things in my life, walked into the city, thinking and exploring. (Here I need to mention that, in the end, I was planning to use casting glass, so all of the objects and moulds will burn in the kiln. So I'd better find something that won't burn out.)

Then I got this:

Stones from Arthur Seat; British Coins; Cider Bottle Caps.

First thing first, these are stone and metal, which will not easily burn out~ I ever picked up a very normal stone from the field and gave it to my best friend before he went abroad for further study, I called it the "Lucky Stone". Surprisingly, he kept it for nearly 4 years and still remembers the story that I made up. I have saw coin collectors in the market and he was able tell all of the journeys when he got those coins (And I gave him one coin that I brought from China). As for the Cider, I only tasted the first drop after I came to Edinburgh. They have different tastes, different characters, and I love them all (OLD MOUT CIDER's my favorite).

These things are not just objects. They are representations of my life here.

Memories start here.

Every beautiful mountain that I climbed.

Every single penny that I spent.

Every drop of cider that I drank.

That's what made my memory.

It's always the hardest part to finish the narrative, what to say now...
