Jan. 31: 快乐是标准

I remember in my early years of practice, my teacher saying to me when I was leaving the monastery, "You will be more happy if you are more mindful." At the time I didn't really understand what he meant. But now that my mind has become a little more mature and I understand more about right attitude, I can now see how mindfulness and happiness are related. This understanding can be used in any situation when experiencing either physical or mental distress. Now it is the most valuable gauge of how I measure my practice.

记得是在我禅修的前期阶段,我的老师在我离开寺院时对我说,你拥有越多正念,你将有越多快乐。在当时我不是特别理解他的意思。到现在我的心变得成熟了一些,对正确的态度有了更多的理解,我现在明白正念和快乐是如何关联起来的。这种理解能在任何情况下应用,不管是身体上伤痛还是心理上的困扰。现在它是评估本人禅修的最有用的标尺。

个人注解:拥有正念,必然导致快乐,快乐是检验正念的唯一标准。德师将快乐作为自己修行的参考,以检查是否偏离。拥有正念,心中有觉知,有正确的态度,贪爱和愚痴也无从现身,我们是轻松的愉悦的自然的喜悦的。
