自题兼寄洁亮兄文锋兄并杨勋贤弟

诚知带减岁相续，为有暂欢殊自足。1

闲处偏宜漫学文，兴来更可聊裁曲。

良朋清致与高谈，胜日俊游资远瞩。

惟惜生刍竟已无，谁言公子曾如玉？2

Inscription for Myself

And to Jieliang, Wenfeng and Yangxun

Pining away as decrepitude's edging in, that I've been well aware,

I'm particularly contented with pleasures temporary and rare.

Casual reading offers me just the pure delight when days are idle,

While writing poetry serves rather an enjoyment as spirits kindle.

With companions of elegance and charisma, we exchange enlightening inspirations.

A pleasurable tour on a brilliant day finds no better way to excite soaring aspirations.

How unfortunate, alas, the fresh grass has eventually withered and fallen to the ground.

Who can tell through all these years why the once fine young gentleman's failed to come around?

注：

1. 带减用昭明太子典。《梁书·昭明太子统传》：“体素壮，腰带十围，至是减削过半。”常用以形容病愁瘦损。 也可以理解为用沈约典。《梁书》载沈约寄徐勉书中言：“百日数旬，革带常应移孔；以手握臂，率计月小半分。以此推算，岂能支久？”，此典化用最妙者当属柳永“衣宽渐宽终不悔”句。

2. 尾联变自《小雅·鸿雁之什·白驹》“皎皎白驹，在彼空谷，生刍一束。其人如玉，毋金玉尔音，而有遐心。”大意是主人挽留友人并称颂友人德洁如玉。生刍即鲜草。我反其意用之，人至中年，如秋薄临，天地肃杀，草木凋零，生刍何来，岂堪比玉，籍以自嘲。
