首先声明：我不喜欢以这种老是让学生“站在岸上”由“老师”下海“捕鱼”后再拿到岸上“喂”学生吃现成的教学方法：学生难道就不会问：““老师”，你又是怎么知道“断供”的英语是怎么说的呢？”是啊，你干嘛不学会自己下海“捕鱼”？

“断供”是“抵押房还款断供”或者口语“停止还贷”的简称。

我们一起来耐心体验一下下面“断供”的“英语语言环境”（非重点部分的原文已经被我“简化”处理，使用更容易懂的文字），然后我们就可以：哦，原来英语“断供”是这么说。

What happens if you stop making payments on your home loan?

As more and more people lost their jobs,between 10 and 20 percent, many people were forced to stop making payments on their home mortgage loans. Others decided they would stop payments intentionally and did what is called a “strategic default.” Whatever reason they may have, millions have been foreclosed on since the housing market fell in 2007.

When one stops making payments on their home loan,a few things will follow. First of all, a foreclosure notice will be on its way.

Maybe you may say that defaulting on a home loan is immoral.However, defaulters need to know that’s not the case.

It would be immoral to default on a mortgage loan if the borrower gave their word they would repay it.
