Week 1

At first I thought this would be a book about what to eat, another guidance for those who think they care and know what exactly they eat. It surprised me that this book is with such a research depth in the industrial food chain in American. It is more like a popularization of the food industry than a ...whatever it is supposed to be.

It reminds me of my childhood in the countryside when I was raised up by the vegetable my mother grew, or from the market opened twice every ten days. Every hostess in the village knew when a newly butchered pig would be available. Actually my bestie is the fourth girl of the butcher.

Now I am a grown up lived in some big city dreamed of by that little girl lived in the rural area. Though I don't think I am totally ignorant about my daily food according to the book, yet it's true that we tend to live our life by following all kinds of ads on everything including food.

It really bored me the author put the development of corn from some random discovery to a domesticated corp, and then with the help of genetic engineering thing and fertilizers, to the king of food. It is a biology book to me for that part.

I haven't finished Farm when I am writing this note. Yet I think it's better to fill up my delay as soon as possible.
