半夜的急诊科办公室里，医生正在一边打瞌睡一边值夜班，窗外静悄悄的，仿佛连中国跳水运动员入水的声音都能听到。
突然，一个年轻人骂骂咧咧地推开了办公室的大门。年轻人走路颤颤巍巍，脑袋支在软管一样的脖子上，手无力地耷拉在身体两侧，头发凌乱，眼窝深陷，好像被开水烫过的公鸡。
“快给我药，快给我药。”年轻人迷迷糊糊地说，伸出手拦住了身后的保安。
“告诉我你哪里不舒服。”医生显然对眼前的情况丈二和尚摸不着头脑，但是秉着职业精神，还是耐心地问了一句。
“快给我作业，快给我作业，作业才能治我的病。”年轻人说话含糊不清，仿佛磕完美国西海岸所有的毒之后听了一晚上mumble rap。年轻人理了理脖子上的红领巾，红领巾在灯光下异常耀眼。医生被年轻人的精神感动了，祖国的花朵果然日益强壮，在如今快节奏的社会下能这样勤勤恳恳废寝忘食以至于走火入魔地读书的年轻人已经越来越少见了。医生想起了他自己年轻的时候，他出身于农村，正是通过自己的不懈努力才一步一步奋斗到了今天的位置……
“年轻人……”医生哽咽了，他才发现自己已经泪眼汪汪。
“快给我作业……给我看一眼也行。”年轻人撑着墙壁，额头上青筋暴起，眼睛里血丝密布，仿佛两天两夜没合眼。
“老实讲，像你这样的年轻人我还真没见过。奋斗是好的，但是也要适可而止。”医生抽泣着说，“熬夜对身体的负担是无形的。年轻的时候频繁熬夜，年纪大了以后会有很多后遗症的……”
“劳资不是这个意思……”年轻人喘着粗气，
“我看一眼作业就能睡着。”
Midnight, in the emergency office of the hospital, the doctor was half dozing off when he was on duty. It was so silent outside that it seemed like even the sound of a teacher approaching from the backside could be heard.
All of a sudden, a young man rushed into the office, cursing, head dangling on the tube-like neck. His arms were shaking uncontrollably, hair was messy and the eyes were sunken so deeply into the face with the black ring around.
'Give me the medicine, give me the medicne!' the young man sounded so weakly as if he just woke up. He protruded out his arms and egded the security guard behind him.
'Are you unwell?' the doctor was obviously mad and confused by what just happened but out of his professional ethics he said.
'Give me... some homework! give me some homework! Only homework can... save my life!' the young man muttered, sounded like he listened to mumble rap for the whole night right after taking the same amount of drugs as Snoop Dogg. He adjusted his red school tie which shone brightly under the office light. The doctor was wonderstrucked by the young man's spirit. The young man was so dedicated in study until the point that he lost his own soul. He had never met a youngster that possess the same spirit as the young man standing right in front of him in the fast pace life nowadays. He recalled his own life and realized that he himself went through same path: he was born in a poor place and he fought all the way up to his position right now...
'Young man...' the doctor choked, he didn't realize that tears had filled his eyes.
'Give me homework... or at least just one glance...' the young man seemed to lose his patience. He was leaning on the wall, panting. Red web-like vessels filled his both eyes as if he didn't sleep for a whole week.
'To be honest, I've never seen a person that work so hard like you...' the doctor said, 'I know study is your life, but sleeping is more important to you. I have many insomnia patients that have problems with sleeping and you can never imagine how many problems not sleeping enough can cause...'
'That's not my fucking point,' the young man grumbled,
'everytime I see the homework, I fall asleep'
