YOUR ASSIGNMENT TODAY: Embrace a plan for dealing with malware.   WHY DO IT:Getting malware off your computer shouldn’t require an epic effort rivaling the Fellowship of the Ring.   HOW TO DO IT: The plan includes these steps: Immediately unplug the computer in question from the network. Back up all your data; back up all personal data to a single folder. Inventory of all your installed applications, plug-ins, and components; note which ones you have to re-download and document the license numbers for software that requires them. Once everything is backed up or documented, format your hard drive and begin again.
