The database principal owns a schema in the database, and cannot be dropped

SELECT s.name
FROM sys.schemas s
WHERE s.principal_id = USER_ID('mytaxes');

ALTER AUTHORIZATION ON SCHEMA::db_owner TO dbo;

 

Then it can be dropped.
