什么是插件？

       什么是插件呢？ 从广义上来讲， 就是插入别的系统里面的物件，主要用于增强原来系统的功能。

       在计算机科学中， 插件一般指的是软件（程序）。 记得去年毕业的时候， 忙着用Word写论文， 最后学校需要.pdf文档。 于是， 我找了一个word转pdf的插件（.exe）, 双击安装后， 就可以看到， 在Word软件的“另存为”中多出一个保存为pdf格式的选项。所以这个.exe就是就是Word软件的插件， 它增强了Word软件的功能， 但不是由MS开发的。 而且，该.exe脱离了Word软件， 就没有任何作用。

        

        插件的英文名称是plug-in, 我们来看看英文描述吧， 很准确：

When an application supports plug-ins, it enables customization.
