我们之前学过动词 justify 的用法，今天我们学习它的形容词 justifiable。根据它的英文释义，我们知道它常用来表示“正常的”“情有可原的”，因此常用来替换 acceptable 和 good reason to do something。我们通过几个例子掌握它的用法。

justifiable 可以和我们之前学过的 grounds（表示“理由）连起来用，表示出于某个理由，这种做法是情有可原的。比如出于自卫，反击是合情合理的：

The counter-attack is justifiable on the grounds of self-defence.

我们平时说的“说不过去”就可以说成“be hardly justifiable“。比如我们常说的“一命换一命”，这种说法是可以理解的，但是很多情况下是不正当、说不过去的：

What he has done is understandable but hardly justifiable.
