  《张培基英译散文选》重要表达笔记整理

第一册

1,有时...有时:now...now/ sometimes...and sometimes...

2.奇趣横生,即极度吸引人, so: 译为:fascinating

3.要知: mind you,成语,意思是:mind what I say / however, 相当于汉语的:请注意,说真的。

4.(蝉,螃蟹)脱壳: to moult his shell/to cast off

5.鲜红嫩绿:往往不直译,而处理成:briliant colours即可。

2.没有...也行: do...without. Eg: I could almost do without lamplight at night.

3.没用的人:good-for-nothing.

4.准备大干,捋起袖管加油干:roll up one’s sleeves.

5.车辆拥挤的: choked with vehicles/crowded with traffic.

6.脑血栓:cerebral thrombosis近似于a stroke.A stroke 兼有:脑血栓和脑溢血等含义。

7.在微雨中:amidst a gentle rain./while it was drizzling.

8.悄悄地: on the quiet. Eg: How did you know I was leaving on the quiet?

9.瓦檐: tiled roof.

10.风里雨里,风里来雨里去:灵活处理为: Rain or shine.

11.依样画葫芦地模仿,盲目抄袭: the slavish copying of sth. Eg: Hence the slavish copying of even the Japanese style of ornamentation.

33.一门偏僻的学问: a little-known branch of learning.

34.钻进了孔方兄的网络里难以抽身,意思即:一心向钱看,一心求财富:so: have gone in for money-making. To go in for:追求之意。

35.使...深切体会: to bring home to... Eg: Evidently, the message he tried bring home to the emperor was that family members must be accommodating to each other for the sake of harmony.

37.答案是明确的,明摆着的:the answer seems beyond dispute.

38. 达到了匪夷所思的地步:reach an unimaginable degree.

39.我年老,行将就木:Being an old man already with one foot in the grave.

40.隐瞒: to hold back...英语习语。 Eg:I felt I no longer had anything to hold back at all.

41.让某人成为某事的知情人: to let in...on...Eg:Besides, it might be a good idea to let in one more friend on my sweet and pure memoroes. 而且,像这样美好而纯洁的回忆,多让一个朋友知道未尝不是好事。

42.专注于: lost in... lost in thought/reverie/watching,looking sth.

43.夕阳无限好: The setting sun shines with unrivalled splendor.

44.几乎流泪: on the verge of tears. Eg. I was then on the verge of tears.

45.匆忙(做sth.)hurry on with sth. Eg: I had to hurry on my journey.

46.无可厚非: be beyond reproach.

47.敌人来了就跑,跑得特别快:In the face of enemy, it just runs away, and that very quickly. In the face: 面临。That very quickly,中的that:”“而且”意,加强语气。
