他在北极洲淘金，回去的路上被同伴抛弃了！他已经没有子弹，没有食物了。

这天他六点钟醒来，静静地躺着，不想动。眼睛直直的盯着天空，他饿了！

As he rolled over on his elbow(手肘)he was startled (惊吓)by a loud snort(动物鼻息声) and saw a bull(公的，公牛) caribou (北美驯鹿)regarding(注视) him with alert(警惕的) curiosity(好奇). The animal was not mere than fifty feet away, and instantly into  he's mind the vision and savor (滋味，风味)of a caribou sizzling(火烤的嘶嘶声) and frying over the fire. Mechanically, (机械的)he reached the empty gun, drew(渐渐移动，画) the bead(准星) and pull the trigger(扳机). The bull snorted and leaped(跳跃，猛冲) away, his hoofs(蹄子) rattling(咯咯声，吵闹声) and clattering(卡塔声) as he fled across the ledge(岩石，暗礁).

2.故事重述

这四句讲了他遇到一头鹿，然后因为没有子弹而没能吃到肉的插曲。

很佩服作者能用四句话讲出一个事。

从主人公醒来( At six o'clock he awoke)，盯着天空，发现自己肚子饿了（he gazed straight up into the gray sky and knew he was hungry）,翻了个身（rolled over on his elbow）,听见一阵鼻息声，吓了一跳（startled by a loud snort）看见一头鹿好奇而警惕的望着他（regarding him with alert curiosity）。这牲口离他不超过50英尺（15米）（the animal was not mere than fifty feet away）心里一阵狂喜。想着终于可以吃到美味了(and instantly into his mind was the vision and savor of caribou sizzling and frying over the fire)。他习惯性的拿起枪（mechanically, he reached for the empty gun）,瞄准并开枪（drew the bead and pull the trigger）.

然后这个畜牲居然打个响鼻、跑了（the bull snorted and leaped away）, 蹄子还嗒嗒嗒的响！（his hoofs rattling and cattering as he fled across the ledge）~
