Making promises

I was a person who used to make promises to others. I would do my best to keep my promises whatever it took. I always wondered why I couldn't dare to refuse others requests. I remember my aunt gave me a dinky key ring, and I hung it on my schoolbag. One day, my friend saw the fine key ring, then asked me where I bought that and if I would buy one for her. I told her it was a gift from my aunt and I would ask my aunt for buying the same one for her. She was pretty happy, as she could have the same key ring with me. After school, I called my aunt for helping me to buy another key ring for my friend. But my aunt told me that it was a souvenir for her trip. I felt I was toast, for the sense of breaking my promise would ruin our friendship. In that case, I did something crazy that I gave my key ring to the friend, for keeping my stupid promise. However, I immediately regretted while the beautiful key ring hanging on her bag. After that I made a promise to myself that I won't make promises easily. And that thing taught me a lesson that I'll never forget.
