《道德经》第一章

道可道非常道名可名非常名無名天地之始有名萬物之母故常無欲以觀其妙常有欲以觀其徼此兩者同出而異名同謂之玄玄 之又玄眾妙之門

大道可以被诠释,但诠释都不恒久;命理可以被定义,但定义都不恒久;宇宙伊始,自然没有命理;命理是孕育万物的源泉;保持无欲能看到神奇,保持贪念能看到功效;两者同时产生,呈现命名不同和称谓相同的玄变;旋转和缠绕,就是神奇玄妙的源泉。

 Tao can be interpreted, but none of the interpretations are eternal. The life of all things can be defined, but none of the definitions are eternal. At beginning, life of all things are not defined and definition is like mother who breed the things. Keeping no desire, you can see wonder; keeping desire, you can see efficacy; both of them emerge at the same time, with different names and identical titles; rotation and entanglement are the source of wonder and mystery.
