最近迷上了百岁老人许渊冲老先生（1921.4.18-2021.6.17）的各种译作.
在2021年5月，已百岁的他还参与樊登读书录制"作者光临--《西南联大求学日记》，许老先生在节目中谈笑风生，思路清晰，表达流畅，说起译作也是随口就来。
“无边落木萧萧下，不尽长江滚滚来”
这是来自杜甫《登高》中的诗句。无边无际的树木萧萧地飘下落叶，长江滚滚涌来,奔腾不息。
原文译文对照
风急天高猿啸哀，渚清沙白鸟飞回。
无边落木萧萧下，不尽长江滚滚来。
万里悲秋常作客，百年多病独登台。
艰难苦恨繁霜鬓，潦倒新停浊酒杯。
许老先生将这句诗翻译为：
The boundless forest sheds its leaves shower by shower,
the endless river rolls it's waves hour after hour.
信、达、雅，真是全部都达到了！shower by shower 和 hour after hour的押韵韵脚，让人读起来朗朗上口。
今天是中秋佳节，一起再来欣赏许老翻译的《水调歌头.明月几时有》（苏轼）英文版：
The Midautumn Festival Tune:
“Prelude to Water Melody“
(水调歌头.明月几时有）
How long will the full moon appear?
Wine cup in hand, Iask the sky.
I do not know what time of the year
It would be tonight in the palace on high.
（明月几时有？把酒问青天。
不知天上宫阙，今夕是何年。）
Riding the wind, there I would fly,
Yet I'm afraid the crystalline palace would be
Too high and cold for me.
I rise and dance, with my shadow I paly.
On high as on earth, would it be as gay?
（我欲乘风归去，又恐琼楼玉宇，
高处不胜寒。起舞弄清影，何似在人间。）
The moon goes round the mansions red
Through gauze-draped window soft to shed
Her light upon the sleepless bed.
（转朱阁，低绮户，照无眠。）
Why then when people part, is the oft full and bright?
Men have sorrow and joy;they part or meet again;
The moon is bright or dim and she may wax or wane.
There has been nothing perfect since the olden days.
（不应有恨，何事长向别时圆？人有悲欢离合，月有阴晴圆缺，此事古难全。)
So let us with that man
Will live long as he can!
Through miles apart, we'll share the beauty she displays.

许渊冲先生一生热爱翻译工作，在樊登读书节目里，樊登说：”有的人能够活到100岁以后，这种人多，但是100岁以后像您这样思路清晰、还能写书的人，真是没见过。
许老回答："因为我100年都是这样子，对我而言，工作就是休息，休息就是工作."
愿我们每个人也能找到一项自己终身的工作，终身学习、终身工作、终身生活在自己认为值得的有意义的生命中！
