Rethinking interviews & Resumes

Do you still remember your first Resume and interview? I remember mine, trying to pile up all my internships and scholarship on it, excited when got an interview phone call, but frustrated about not hearing from the company any more, even now, I can still feel my heartbeat for a coming interview, the only difference is now I pile up with my working experiences instead.

By rethinking my Resume, I start to wondering, are all those things what my future employer really want? Are all detailed experiences I stated can identify me from other candidates? BTW, what kind of person is the employer really looking for? How about cover letter? Should I have one? And what’s to be written on it?

By rethinking my interview, I aware myself more reactive rather than proactive, is this a good sign? Should I prepare something before the interview, such as search some frequently asked questions and have my answers prepared in advance? What are those questions? Should I bargain salary at the end of the interview? And when is the best time to do so? Should I follow up with the company about my performance? Would it make me look aggressive if I do so?

Lots of questions pops out when I rethink about it, which the answers are unknown to me, and if you know well about ‘Johari Window’, you might figure out it’s located in the blind spot, where something you don't know but other people knows, especially the Human Resources. As the saying in the book , He or she who gets hired is not necessarily the one who can do that job the best, but the one who knows the most about how to get hired.
